Sam and Theo play baseball.

Theo sits on a bench. His cheek hurts. The game stops.

Their coach sits with Theo. A grown-up comes to help.

Sam waits by the coach.

“I hope you feel better,” he says.

“Thank you,” says Theo.

Sam makes a card. He draws a big ball on it.

“This is for you,” says Sam.

Theo smiles. “You are a kind friend.”

Sam smiles, too. He is glad he can help.
